Headed to Bay Area
The 49ers signed Amos to the practice squad Tuesday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Amos played in 16 regular-season games between the Texans and Jets in 2023, and finished with 28 tackles (23 solo) and one pass defended. He signed with the Jaguars in early August, but he was unsuccessful in making the 53-man roster at the end of training camp. Amos will provide much-needed depth for the 49ers, as George Odum and Ji'Ayir Brown are the only healthy safeties on the active roster.

Headed to Duval
Amos signed a deal with the Jaguars on Tuesday, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports.
Analysis: Amos began the 2023 season with the Jets, then joined the Texans in December after being waived. Across 16 regular-season games last year, the 2015 fifth-round pick accumulated 28 tackles (23 solo) and one pass defended. Amos will add depth to the Jaguars' secondary behind starting safeties Andre Cisco and Darnell Savage.

Finds new home
Amos signed a contract with the Texans on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Amos was waived by the Jets on Saturday and was able to clear waivers, making him a free agent. The veteran saw his role shrink in New York as the season went along and paved the way for his departure. Amos should help provide some depth and stability at safety for Houston, who has dealt with multiple injuries at the position this season, including having M.J. Stewart (shoulder) and Eric Murray (knee) on injured reserve for the time being.

Parts ways with Jets
Amos was waived by the Jets on Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Amos and the Jets reportedly both agreed to part ways. This is not too surprising, as the veteran safety has seen his role reduced since the first four weeks of the season. He will now be free to look for a new opportunity of his choosing, assuming he clears waivers.

Quiet debut with New York
Amos registered two solo tackles in Monday's 22-16 win over the Bills.
Analysis: Amos signed with the Jets in June and he operated as a backup to Tony Adams at free safety in Week 1. Considering Amos only played 10 defensive snaps in the contest, his production in 2023 could be far lower than his career averages if his role doesn't change.

Makes 100 tackles for first time
Amos registered a career-high 102 tackles (73 solo), a sack, an interception and five pass deflections over 17 appearances during the 2022 season.
Analysis: Amos' snap count declined slightly for a third straight year, but that did not prevent him from hitting the 100-tackle mark for the first time in his career. Amos has been an ironman since joining the Packers in 2019, but he will be a free agent this offseason, and it remains to be seen if he will be back in Green Bay.

Picks up first interception
Amos recorded eight tackles (seven solo) and an interception in the Packers' Week 17 win over Minnesota.
Analysis: Amos tied with two of his teammates for the team lead in tackles in the contest, and he intercepted a Kirk Cousins pass intended for Justin Jefferson in the second quarter. Amos returned that pick 26 yards, helping to set up a Green Bay touchdown. The interception was Amos' first of the season, giving him six straight campaigns with at least one pick.

Paces both clubs with 11 stops
Amos recorded 11 tackles (nine solo) in Sunday's 26-20 win over the Dolphins.
Analysis: Amos' 11-tackle performance on Christmas Day ties his previous career high in that category, which he set in Week 17 of the 2017 campaign. The veteran safety has now registered double-digit stops on three separate occasions this season, and he'll continue serving as one of Green Bay's main defensive contributors when the Packers host the Vikings in a critical New Year's Day matchup.

Tallies sack in overtime win
Amos logged nine tackles (eight solo), including one sack, during Sunday's 31-28 overtime win against the Cowboys.
Analysis: Amos finished as the Packers' second-leading tackler behind Isaiah McDuffie (12), as linebackers De'Vondre Campbell (knee) and Krys Barnes (concussion) were both inactive Sunday. The eight-year safety also notched just the sixth sack of his career, bringing down quarterback Dak Prescott for a two-yard loss in the second quarter. Amos now has 52 tackles (35 solo) and two passes defended over 10 games this season, and he'll continue to play an every-down role against the Titans on Thursday.

Five stops during SNF
Amos recorded five tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Bills.
Analysis: Amos only put up a moderate stat line against Buffalo's high-powered offense, though he still tied linebackers Quay Walker and Preston Smith for the team's second-most tackles in this contest. After totaling nine interceptions over the last five seasons, the safety has yet to pick off an opposing quarterback in 2022. Amos should have a chance to register a more productive outing against the Lions this coming Sunday.

Double-digit tackles in loss
Amos registered 10 tackles (four solo) while deflecting a pass in the Packers' 23-21 loss to the Commanders in Week 7.
Analysis: Amos one-upped his Week 6 performance Sunday, recording a new season-high 10 tackles in Green Bay's loss. The safety played all 72 of the Packers' defensive snaps, failing to miss a play for the third consecutive contest. In addition to the tackles, Amos recorded his second pass deflection of the year. Overall, the 29-year-old has produced 33 tackles with two pass deflections over the first seven games of the season.

Seven stops in loss
Amos recorded seven tackles (five solo), including one for loss, during Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Jets.
Analysis: Amos' seven stops were good for his season high and gives him 23 stops through six games. The veteran safety is a core piece of Green Bay's defense, but he doesn't produce prolific tackling numbers and hasn't made any disruptive plays this season, making him a low-end IDP option in most leagues.

Cleared to play in London
Amos (concussion) is active for Sunday's game against the Giants in London, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.
Analysis: Amos didn't progress beyond limited participation in progress this week, but he apparently was able to clear all five stages of the NFL's concussion protocol in advance of the 9:30 a.m. ET kickoff. The 29-year-old is expected to start at safety and play his typical high volume of snaps.

Questionable for Sunday
Amos (concussion) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Giants in London, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
Analysis: Amos was diagnosed with a concussion during the team's Week 4 win over New England and didn't return to the contest. However, after sitting out Wednesday's practice, the starting safety was able to log back-to-back limited sessions Thursday and Friday, giving him a shot to suit up in Week 5. If Amos isn't able to play, expect Rudy Ford, who played 44 defensive snaps against the Patriots, to start at safety next to Darnell Savage.

Not practicing Wednesday
Amos (concussion) didn't practice Wednesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Amos suffered a concussion during the team's Week 4 win over the Patriots and remains in protocols Wednesday. If the starting safety is unable to suit up in Week 5, expect Rudy Ford, who played 44 defensive snaps against New England, to step into a starting role next to Darnell Savage.

Leaves with injury
Amos is out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Patriots after suffering a concussion, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Amos' absence will be a blow to the Packers secondary. While he is out, Dallin Leavitt will likely man the strong-safety position.

Three tackles in loss
Amos recorded three tackles (two solo) and one pass deflection during Sunday's 23-7 loss to the Vikings.
Analysis: Amos collected Green Bay's only deflected pass Week 1 against Minnesota, but he otherwise failed to provide much of a spark for the team's secondary. However, it's encouraging to see the 29-year-old safety play all 62 of the team's defensive snaps. Look for the entire Packers defense to get back on track next Sunday night when the team hosts a rather unproven Bears offense.

Best tackling season of career
Amos notched 93 tackles (75 solo), eight pass breakups and two interceptions across 17 regular-season appearances in 2021.
Analysis: Amos, who hasn't missed a game since 2017, will be entering the final year of his contract with the Packers in 2022. The 28-year-old is locked into an every-down role and thus remains on the IDP radar, but a lack of consistent playmaking renders him a low-upside fantasy option.

Snags second interception
Amos recorded four tackles (three solo), an interception and three pass deflections in Sunday's 17-0 victory over the Seahawks.
Analysis: Amos did not do a lot in the tackle department, but he did register his second pick of the season and had a shot at one or two others. He remains an iron man for the Packers, having played every defensive snap in nine straight games.

First interception this season
Amos had eight tackles (six solo) and an interception in Sunday's 25-22 victory over the Bengals.
Analysis: Amos did not make a mark outside the tackle columns through the Packers' first nine halves of the campaign, but he registered his first 2021 pick on Cincinnati's first drive of the second half. Amos is now up to 37 tackles (30 solo) on the season, which puts him on pace to break the 100-tackle mark for the first time in his career.

Nine tackles on MNF
Amos recorded nine tackles (all solo) during Monday's 35-17 win over the Lions.
Analysis: The 28-year-old led the defense with nine tackles during the blowout loss in Week 1, and he was second on the team Monday behind De'Vondre Campbell. Amos played all 57 defensive snaps versus the Lions and should continue to see significant action at strong safety heading into the Week 3 matchup with San Francisco.

Leads team in tackles in Week 1
Amos made nine tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's 38-3 loss to the Saints.
Analysis: Amos' nine total tackles led the team and his seven solo stops also tied for the most among Packers defenders. Even though Sunday's game was out of hand early in the fourth quarter, Amos was on the field for all but two of the 62 plays run by the Saints' offense.

Restructures deal with Green Bay
Amos, who was due to count $10.3 million on this year's salary cap, restructured his deal Friday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: After having two of his best NFL seasons with the Packers, Amos proved to be a dependable safety option and is now signed through 2022. Recording over 80 tackles and at least eight pass breakups for two years in a row, the 27-year-old will return for at least two more seasons with the team.

Seals victory with late pick
Amos set season highs with nine total tackles and seven solo stops and also added an interception in Sunday's victory over the Bears.
Analysis: Amos made a lot of plays against his former team and snuffed out any lingering hope the Bears had to win the game by picking off a Mitch Trubisky pass with just over three minutes to go in the contest. Amos made far more of an impact in the second half of the season than the first, as after tallying 35 tackles (27 solo), one pass deflection and no interceptions over the first eight games, he racked up 48 tackles (39 solo), eight deflections and two interceptions over his final eight appearances.

All over field in win
Amos totaled seven tackles (six solo), a sack and three pass breakups in Saturday's 24-16 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: Amos put together a dominant showing in Saturday's win, impressing all over the field and specifically in coverage. The hard-hitting safety consistently jars the ball out of opposing pass-catchers' hands, adding another dimension to a strong secondary. Amos is up to 69 tackles, two sacks and seven pass breakups this season. He'll face a tough test with Derrick Henry and the Titans coming to town in Week 16.

Totals seven tackles
Amos had seven tackles (six solo) during Sunday's 41-25 win over the Bears.
Analysis: The 27-year-old tied for the team lead in tackles with Raven Greene, as he equaled his season high for the third time. Amos has played every defensive snap in all but two games for the Packers this season, but his modest tackle numbers (4.6 per game) limit his IDP value.

Comes up with first pick of 2020
Amos registered two tackles, (two solo), one pass defensed and an interception in Sunday's 24-20 victory over the Jaguars.
Analysis: Amos collected just two tackles in the win, his lowest mark since Week 2 against Detroit, but he came up with a key interception near the end of the first half that resulted in three points for Green Bay. The veteran safety has recorded 37 tackles (29 solo), two passes defensed and a recovered fumble over nine games this year.

Leads Green Bay in tackles

Registers sack, scoops fumble
Amos recorded six total tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery during Sunday's 35-20 win against the Texans.
Analysis: The veteran safety now has exactly one sack in three consecutive seasons, as well as a fumble recovery in four of the past five years. Green Bay sits at just 19th in scoring defense, however, and Amos has contributed to that subpar rating with his struggles in pass coverage. He's allowing 15.6 yards per completion this season with two passing TDs surrendered, after holding opponents under 12 YPC the past two seasons (with just three TDs allowed in 32 combined appearances).

Makes five stops against Saints
Amos recorded five tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 37-30 win over the Saints.
Analysis: It's been a bit of a slow start for Amos in the tackling department, as he's recorded just 10 stops through three games after averaging 5.3 per contest last season. This is due more to scheme than Amos' performance, though, as the linebackers are piling up tackles at the second level. His IDP outlook isn't dependable as a result, though.

Clear of pectoral injury
Amos (pectoral) said Wednesday that he didn't require offseason surgery and is now 100 percent healthy, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
Analysis: The 27-year-old was limited to 31 defensive snaps during the NFC Championship Game in San Francisco due to the injury, but he's fully recovered over the past few months. Amos led the Packers in defensive snaps during his first year with the team, recording 84 tackles (68 solo), one sack, two interceptions and eight passes breakups. He's poised to play a similarly heavy role in the secondary again in 2020.

Leads team in defensive snaps
Amos (pectoral) started all 16 regular-season games in his first season with the Packers and recorded a career-high 84 tackles (68 solo), two interceptions, a sack, and eight pass deflections.
Analysis: Amos was the steady safety the Packers expected him to be when they signed him to a four-year deal last offseason, leading all defenders in snaps played (99.6 percent) and finishing second on the team in tackles. The extent of the pectoral injury he suffered in the NFC Championship Game is not yet known, but assuming he is not dealing with something particularly serious, he will be locked in as the Packers' starting strong safety when the 2020 season gets underway.

Leaves with pectoral injury
Amos exited Sunday's NFC Championship game against the 49ers due to a pectoral injury, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Amos, who won't return to the contest, was injured in the second quarter while making a tackle on San Francisco running back Tevin Coleman, who has been ruled out with a shoulder injury in turn. In his stead, Will Redmond will likely step in at strong safety for Green Bay.

Stuffs stat sheet in Week 14
Amos had seven tackles (six solo), an interception, two pass deflections and a sack in Sunday's victory over Washington.
Analysis: It was a big day for Amos, whose stat line Sunday gave him a career-high 74 tackles and also allowed him to tie his career highs in both sacks and interceptions. Amos has been an iron man in his first season with the Packers, playing all but four snaps in a blowout victory through 14 games.

Cleared to play against Panthers
Amos (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
Analysis: Amos surfaced on the injury report Wednesday and missed the first two practices of the week, but he managed to make a quick recovery. He's an every-snap player when fully healthy, so there's a slight chance his reps are capped. Amos has 50 tackles (41 solo), four pass breakups and an interception over nine contests.

Questionable for Week 10
Amos (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's bout against the Panthers.
Analysis: Amos sat out the week's first two practices, but he managed to upgrade to a limited session Friday. The starting safety appears to have a fair shot at playing through his hamstring injury Week 10. Will Redmond figures to draw the start at strong safety in the event that Amos is unable to go.

Misses second straight practice
Amos (hamstring) didn't participate in Thursday's practice, Olivia Reiner of the Journal Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Amos completed a workout off to the side and didn't wear pads, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, but this is the second consecutive day he's been listed as DNP on the injury report. He's an every-snap player when healthy, and if he's ruled out for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Will Redmond figures to be the main beneficiary.

Can't practice Wednesday
Amos (hamstring) was a non-participant in Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: Amos appears to have picked up a hamstring issue during Sunday's 26-11 loss to the Chargers. The 26-year-old has played 100 percent of snaps on defense in eight of nine contests this season, the only exception being Week 7 versus Oakland when he played 94 percent of the snaps. If Amos was forced to miss any time, Will Redmond would be the favorite to start at strong safety.
